Are you a warm, intuitive caregiver with a love for babies and a spirit for adventure? These first-time parents are searching for a travel-ready, full-time Mother’s Helper to join their family on both coasts. Split your time between LA’s Mar Vista and Coral Gables (Miami, FL). You’ll be working alongside an involved, stay-at-home mom, someone who’s deeply hands-on but values a dependable, loving second set of hands. When mom is engaged with the baby, you’ll step into a family assistant role, helping keep the household running smoothly, including housekeeping tasks. When she needs a break, she wants to know her baby is in the very best hands…yours! You should be a strong supporter of the mother’s lead and parenting philosophy – there to assist, not direct. Family is looking for LA-based candidates, and will provide a private one-bedroom apartment in Miami so you can enjoy personal downtime when off-duty.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide loving, attentive care for the baby
- Support mom with daily routines: feeding, naps, play, diapering
- Prep healthy, age-appropriate baby meals
- Keep baby areas organized and tidy
- Assist with household/housekeeping tasks during downtime (housekeeper comes weekly, but need support with day-to-day upkeep)
- Pack and organize for family travel
- Travel coast to coast with the family
LOCATION: Mar Vista, CA & Miami, FL
SCHEDULE: Tuesday–Saturday (50 hours/week guaranteed)
- Tues–Thurs: 9 AM–5 PM
- Fri–Sat: 10 AM–10 PM
- Flexibility for working later evenings as needed and schedule shifts is KEY
COMPENSATION: Target Annual Salary of $100-110K DOE!
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of newborn/infant experience
- Confident, communicative, collaborative, and easygoing—must enjoy working closely with mom and defer to her parenting styles/requests
- Spanish-speaking strongly preferred (mom is fluent in Spanish)
- Travel-savvy and passport-ready
- Comfortable relocating to Miami for 3–6 months at a time
- Dog-friendly (they have a sweet collie-spaniel!)
- Strong swimmer and water-safe
- Current Tdap required
The right candidate for this role will have a:
- Deep understanding of human development, infant/child psychology, and nervous system regulation
- Strong understanding of (or interest in) attachment theory and gentle/respectful parenting
- High EQ with the ability to stay calm during big emotions
