Busy family in the South Bay is seeking a dedicated, energetic, and experienced full-time nanny/family assistant to care for their two boys, ages 8 and 9, both of whom are neurodivergent. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, nurturing, and capable of handling the boys’ academic and behavioral needs while managing some household duties. The boys are very active, so they need someone who can keep up with their energy and actively engage them in both educational and playful activities. Duties will include managing daily routines such as meals, hygiene, schoolwork, and social and play activities, helping with homework and educational support; must be able to guide the boys academically, driving the boys to school, appointments, therapy sessions, and extracurricular activities, communicating effectively with parents about the children’s progress, challenges, and any concerns, collaborating with healthcare professionals, parents and therapists to ensure a holistic approach to care, engaging in outdoor play and stimulating activities, assisting with light housekeeping, including laundry, cleaning, tidying up and organizing, working with household staff (eg. housekeepers, chef, houseman) to ensure smoothly run homes, and household assistant tasks such as running errands, organizing, planning birthday parties, restocking kitchen and helping with family needs beyond childcare plus general household assistance. Please note they have a chef, but you must be able to prepare basic meals and snacks.
LOCATION: Palos Verdes Estates and Hermosa Beach, CA
SCHEDULE: 10 am-6 pm with the flexibility to stay later on a weekend or stay overnight on occasion
COMPENSATION: Competitive salary based on experience
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to travel, passport ready
- Minimum of 3-5 years working as a nanny, caregiver, or in a similar role with children who have neurodivergence (e.g., ADHD, autism, sensory processing issues).
- College-educated (degree in education, psychology, child development, or related field is a plus).
- Knowledge of behavior management and techniques for working with neurodivergent children. Comfortable supporting children with academic work.
- Must have a reliable car, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record.
- Energetic, patient, and able to keep up with two active boys. Willing to learn from experts to better support the children.
- Must be available to work weekends and travel with the family when needed.
