Outdoorsy, adventurous, and holistic family is seeking a highly experienced, flexible Live-In Nanny to care for their 16-month-old son, a joyful, high-energy toddler with a big personality. The family follows a predictable daily rhythm and is looking for someone who appreciates structure while staying playful and adaptable. Their son wakes early, follows a consistent routine of meals, outdoor time, and naps, and is down for the night by 7:00 PM. A strong understanding of toddler schedules, transitions, and sleep is essential. This is a live-in, travel-heavy role. The family is currently based in Kauai through June 2026 (approximately 30% of the year), with additional time spent at their home in Ojai (about 50% of the year), plus frequent domestic and international travel (roughly 20%), including extended stays in Europe. Private accommodations are provided, including a private condo in Kauai and a guesthouse in Ojai.The parents are hands-on, present, and do not work traditional schedules. They’re looking for someone who is easy to have in their space and can ebb and flow with their day-to-day rhythm. They are very active and spend close to 6 hours a day outdoors with their son – whether walking, swimming, running around, or playing – so they’re seeking a nanny who genuinely loves being outside and feels aligned with their holistic, homeopathic lifestyle.
While the family is laid-back and friendly, they value professional boundaries and are not looking for someone who needs constant conversation or to be “best friends.” Mom is a direct communicator and is looking for a nanny who is mature, open to constructive feedback, and comfortable addressing frustrations or concerns proactively before they build up.Please note: this is a vaccine-free household. Their child is not vaccinated, and candidates must be comfortable with this.DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Full childcare for a high-energy, active toddler boy
- Maintaining daily routines and transitions
- Outdoor play for a large portion of the day
- Age-appropriate play, creativity, and physical activity
- Supporting Montessori/Waldorf-inspired learning
- Meal prep primarily for the child (whole foods, organic, no sugar)
- Child-related household tasks during nap time
- 8–10 hours/week of family assistant support (errands, organization, projects)
- Eventually caring for the child solo for short parent trips
LOCATIONS: Kauai, HI, Ojai, CA & Worldwide Travel
SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week guaranteed. Flexibility is key. The schedule will be a mix of full days (8:00 AM–4:00 PM), split shifts, one evening/overnight per week, and occasional weekends. Actual days and times will be provided 1–2 weeks in advance, with some last-minute coverage required as plans shift.
RATE: $40/hour +Health Insurance Stipend and PTO. No housing expenses, plus a car provided for your use in Ojai (on and off the clock).
