A super sweet family is moving from NYC to Mar Vista this May after 14 years in Manhattan! They’re excited to leave behind the hustle and bustle of city life for a warm, welcoming neighborhood filled with young families—just in time for summer! While they will deeply miss their wonderful NYC nanny, they’re eager to find someone just as special in Los Angeles. These dual-working parents have a son who will turn 2 in July. He’s an active, happy, and curious little boy—walking, talking, and just starting to run! He loves spending time outdoors at the playground, attending music class, and splashing in the water at the beach. He’s fascinated by animals, cars, trucks, and airplanes and enjoys building with blocks and engaging in hands-on activities. Mom and Dad are looking for a nanny who will not only engage him in play but also encourage his development through interactive activities, neighborhood playgroups, and local outings.
LOCATION: Mar Vista, CA
START DATE: Week of May 5th
SCHEDULE:
- 3 full days a week; ideally on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, but they’re open to adjusting the exact days for the right candidate(weekend days not included).
- Each day will be an 8-hour shift, typically falling between 8/9 AM and 5/6 PM.
RATE: $30-35/hr gross DOE
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3+ years of recent experience working with toddlers
- Dog-friendly (the family has a small Goldendoodle)
- Willing to get an annual flu shot; COVID vaccination preferred (but not required)
- Active, playful, and social
- Water-safe; there is a small pool in the yard, and while it will be fenced, you should be comfortable around water
Your primary focus will be keeping their energetic toddler engaged, stimulated, and safe throughout the day. Additional responsibilities include preparing simple snacks and meals for him, handling light grocery shopping as needed, and managing day-to-day tasks related to his care—such as baby laundry, keeping the high chair clean, loading/unloading the dishwasher, and ensuring his spaces remain tidy and organized. The family is searching for a warm, nurturing, and affectionate nanny who can create a loving and secure environment for their son. They value someone calm and patient yet engaging and playful, ready to support his development through activities, play, and exploration.
