This family in La Cañada is seeking a warm, patient, and engaged part-time nanny to support their vibrant household with three children: 6-year-old twin boys and an 8-year-old girl. The twins currently participate in occupational therapy and have been displaying some OCD and behavioral challenges, and while there is no formal diagnosis at this time, the family is eager to find a caregiver with experience supporting neurodivergent children. A background in occupational therapy, early childhood development, or a related field is highly valued, though candidates with lighter professional experience who demonstrate the right temperament, curiosity, and developmental awareness are encouraged to apply. This role could be an excellent fit for a graduate student studying OT or a similar discipline!

The position offers between 15 and 25 hours per week, scheduled across 3–5 days, primarily after school and on weekends. Weekday shifts typically run 3–4 hours, with a start time around 2:30–3:00 PM when the children get out of school, ending around 6:30–7:00 PM. Weekend hours are most likely mornings, averaging 3–5 hours per shift. While the family is flexible once the right person is found, the schedule will be capped at 25 hours per week. There is openness to set days (for example, guaranteed Tuesdays and Thursdays, with additional days as needed).

LOCATION: La Cañada, CA

COMPENSATION: $35-$45/hr Gross Depending on Experience

SCHEDULE: 15-25 hours a week spread over 3-5 days a week, weekday Afternoons from 2:30-6:30/7PM and weekend morning shifts (about 4-5 hours). They can and will commit to a set schedule that works best for you, and will guarantee a set amount of hours (minimum of 15, max of 25)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working with school age children
  • Background or coursework in Occupational Therapy, Early Childhood Development, Child Psychology, Education, or a related field (formal or in progress strongly preferred)
  • Strong ability to multitask while caring for three children at once
  • Reliable personal vehicle and valid driver’s license (must be willing to use own car, as no nanny car is provided)
  • Ability to assist with homework and support age-appropriate learning and development

The ideal candidate is highly interactive, engaging, and mindful in their approach, with an interest in activities that support emotional regulation, creativity, and development. A love of arts and crafts, creative play, and the ability to independently come up with projects is a major plus—the family has ample space, materials, and enthusiastic participants.

Multitasking is essential, as the caregiver will be supporting three young children at once, though the majority of care will take place alongside at least one parent. The role also includes calmly and thoughtfully helping to settle disputes, following existing systems the family has found effective, and assisting with homework as needed.

This is an energetic, creative, and lively household filled with music, imagination, and connection, as well as the natural challenges that come with having three children close in age. The children are described as creative, hilarious, and kind, and the family is hopeful to find someone who is excited to learn, brings positive energy, and is interested in growing alongside them. The nanny must have their own reliable car, as there is no nanny car available. Ultimately, the family is looking for someone they can build a long-term relationship with and one day consider part of their extended family. They are eager to interview and can’t wait to meet you, apply today!
