A loving and busy family in Mar Vista with two children, ages 2.5 and 6, is seeking a warm, experienced, and highly organized Nanny/Family Assistant who genuinely enjoys cooking and thrives in a dynamic household. Both parents have demanding full-time careers and are looking for someone who can provide consistent support in both managing the home and helping with childcare, particularly in the afternoons. They have a wonderful full-time nanny (with them for over six years) who works Monday through Thursday and is the primary caregiver for their younger child. This new position will complement her by focusing on family dinners, household management, and after-school routines. The ideal candidate is calm, proactive, nurturing, and committed. You should love creating a sense of order and care in a home, feel confident planning and preparing healthy meals, and bring a flexible, team-oriented spirit. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who values stability, enjoys variety in their day, and wants to grow with a lovely long-term family.

A love of cooking is essential in this role. The family enjoys clean, California-style mealsthink grilled fish, roasted veggies, taco night, fresh salads, and comfort foods like homemade mac and cheese or brisket. You’ll handle menu planning, grocery runs (daily or every other day), prep and cook dinner, and clean up afterward. Meals are served family-style. The mom is gluten-free, and the son is a picky eater. While you’ll lead in the kitchen, the other nanny is happy to assist with prep—like chopping vegetables or putting items in the oven while you’re out running errands. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Grocery shopping, household inventory and supply management
  • Running errands, unboxing deliveries and handling returns
  • Coordinating vendors, scheduling appointments and managing vehicle maintenance
  • School pickups, driving to extracurriculars, homework help and the occasional doctor visit
  • Helping with birthday gifts and wrapping and preparing for any events
  • Fridays are a bit different: you’ll unload the dishwasher, tidy up after breakfast, spend the morning with the younger child, and prep light meals or snacks for the weekend—no dinner required, as the family eats out on Fridays.

If you’re looking for a role where you can bring both your nurturing care and household management skills to a family who truly values their team—this could be the perfect fit. They’re looking to hire right away, so if it sounds like a match, apply now!
