These AWESOME return clients are looking for a nanny to monitor their special needs toddler (4 years old) overnight for anywhere from 1-3 months. He is moderately autistic (low verbal) and is currently struggling with sleep and is waking up for 1-3 hours in the middle of the night and the parents are sleep deprived. They don’t need you to be an NCS or sleep trainer, they are working closely with his pediatrician and specialists and really just need an adult there to supervise him overnight so that they can catch up on sleep. They have another child (2 year old girl), who sleeps soundly through the night. They’re not strict about how long you can commit for, they are okay with hiring someone who can only work for a month, but they are also open to candidates who may have the flexibility to extend the booking (if their son isn’t showing signs of progress).
LOCATION: Highland Park, CA (Greater Los Angeles Area)
SCHEDULE: Sunday-Thursday from 9PM-6AM, but they’re flexible to change the nights or the hours if needed.
COMPENSATION: Hourly rate range is $30-$35/hr Gross DOE
REQUIREMENTS:
- Have experience working with children who are on the spectrum
- Must be LQBTQ+ friendly
Your duties will involve keeping an eye on the monitor from the living room and tending to him when he wakes up (reading him a story, getting him a drink of water, tucking him back in, encouraging quiet play etc), during the time that he is sleeping you can work on your computer, be on your phone, watch movies quietly, perhaps run a load of laundry for the family and once he starts to make some progress (and provided you’re a light sleeper) they are okay with you snoozing during the shift!
