Wonderful Glendale family seeking an experienced, energetic, and engaging Part-Time Nanny for their two children, ages 4 and 6. Their sweet 4-year-old son is on the autism spectrum and is currently thriving in preschool, making exciting strides with his language and development. He is an active, high-energy little boy who loves physical play and needs a nanny who can truly keep up with him! Their 6-year-old daughter is also on the spectrum but is much more independent. The family is looking for someone warm, patient, playful, and confident who has experience working with children with special needs and understands how to engage and support them while also having plenty of energy for active play.

DUTIES:

  • Pick up 4-year-old from preschool in Mid-City at 12:30 PM
  • Provide safe transportation back to Glendale and to activities as needed
  • Engage him in active, developmentally appropriate play and activities
  • Support language, independence, and skills he is working on at school
  • Prepare snacks and simple meals for the children
  • Assist with light household tasks, tidying, organization, and children’s laundry
  • Help keep the afternoon and evening routine running smoothly
  • Provide care for both children as needed

LOCATION: Glendale, CA; driving to Mid-City required

SCHEDULE: Monday–Friday, approximately 12:30:00–5:30 PM, with flexibility to stay later on occasion. Initially, an earlier start time may be needed as his school gradually eases him back into a full school day, with pick-up times progressing from approximately 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM until his regular schedule is established.

COMPENSATION: $35–$40/hour DOE

START DATE: Mid-September/October

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience with children on the autism spectrum/special needs strongly preferred
  • High-energy, active, playful, and engaging
  • Patient, warm, and dependable
  • Confident managing two children
  • Excellent driver with a clean driving record
  • Comfortable driving between Mid-City and Glendale
