This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced career nanny who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and is looking for a long-term home with an appreciative, hands-on family. Based in beautiful Northern Nevada, this role goes far beyond traditional childcare—it’s an opportunity to become an integral part of a well-supported household where flexibility, teamwork, and initiative are genuinely valued. The family currently employs a wonderful full-time nanny and is expanding their team to ensure seamless coverage as their children grow and their schedules evolve. With three children—a curious and energetic 3.5-year-old and nearly 12-year-old twins—the family is seeking a polished, adaptable professional who enjoys variety, embraces changing priorities, and is always happy to jump in wherever needed.
The schedule is unlike a traditional nanny position and is designed for someone who values both flexibility and meaningful downtime. Employment is structured around recurring 28-day work periods, with seven guaranteed blackout days each cycle that are scheduled in advance. During these off days, the nanny is completely relieved of responsibilities and will not be contacted by the family. The remaining days require complete scheduling flexibility, with assignments varying based on the family’s needs. One week may consist of daytime hours, another may involve live-in, 24/7 coverage with the older children while the parents travel with the youngest, and other periods may simply require the nanny to remain locally on-call while attending to personal activities. When the family is fully staffed, schedules will typically be planned approximately two weeks in advance, though some flexibility will always be required. All scheduled working time—including local on-call hours—is fully compensated.

The ideal candidate is someone who naturally views themselves as both a nanny and an invaluable household partner. Responsibilities include providing attentive, developmentally appropriate childcare while reinforcing independence, good manners, and respectful behavior, maintaining established routines, planning engaging educational and recreational activities, preparing simple, healthy pescatarian family meals when the housekeeper is unavailable, completing family laundry (with training provided for fine garments), assisting with dishes, grocery shopping, household organization, errands, inventory management, and proactively supporting the overall rhythm of the home. This role also includes preparing residences ahead of the family’s arrival during travel, packing and unpacking, and ensuring each home is ready for a seamless transition. No task is considered too small, and the family greatly appreciates someone who enjoys pitching in wherever they are needed.
Frequent domestic travel and occasional international travel are an exciting component of this position. The nanny will accompany the family between residences, sometimes traveling ahead to prepare the home before everyone arrives. Every day brings something different, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and being an active member of a collaborative household team.
The family is searching for a seasoned childcare professional with significant private-home experience, ideally within high-profile, demanding, or live-in environments requiring exceptional flexibility. The successful candidate will have a proven history of long-term commitments, excellent judgment, unwavering discretion, and the ability to remain calm and dependable under pressure. They should be proactive, resourceful, highly organized, and genuinely enjoy supporting both the children and the household in whatever capacity is needed. A valid passport, safe driver, CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain), and strong swimming ability are required.
Candidates must relocate to Northern Nevada and maintain their own local residence. While the nanny may occasionally stay overnight with the family during working periods, they will return to their own home during scheduled time off. The family welcomes outstanding candidates from anywhere in the country and is happy to assist with relocation. With Northern Nevada’s lower cost of living and no state income tax, this is an outstanding opportunity for a dedicated nanny seeking an exciting, long-term position with an exceptional family. They are eager to interview and can’t wait to meet you! Apply today!
