A warm, down-to-earth family who recently relocated from the Philadelphia suburbs to Hermosa Beach is excited to find an exceptional afternoon nanny to become an important part of their lives. They’re settling into the South Bay after moving for Dad’s career and are looking for a caregiver who is engaging, dependable, and genuinely enjoys building meaningful relationships with young children. Their daughter is a spirited, imaginative, and wonderfully curious 3-year-old who keeps everyone on their toes! While a bilingual English/Spanish nanny would be a wonderful bonus, it is by no means required!
The position will begin as a part-time role on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with plans to transition to Monday through Friday afternoons in the new year. Grandma will be visiting through December, and either she or Mom will likely handle school pickup initially, allowing the nanny to focus on welcoming their daughter home, preparing lunch, helping her get settled after school, and creating a fun, enriching afternoon.
LOCATION: Hermosa Beach, CA (Greater Los Angeles Area)
SCHEDULE: Tuesday-Thursday from 12PM-6PM (starting in the new year, the schedule will transition to Monday-Friday 12PM-6PM)
COMPENSATION: $30/hr+ Gross (Depending on Experience)
REQUIREMENTS:
- Recent Toddler Experience
- Dog Friendly - They have 2 Dogs
- Willing to Stay Up to Date on Vaccinations
This little girl has a huge imagination and loves pretend play, arts and crafts, gardening, building with toy tools, and any activity that lets her create and explore. The family hopes to find someone who enjoys planning age-appropriate activities, encouraging creativity, and getting outside whenever possible. Their neighborhood is wonderfully walkable, making neighborhood strolls, scootering adventures, and trips to the playground just four blocks away a regular part of the afternoon. As she grows, there may also be occasional opportunities to supervise playdates.
Above all else, this family is searching for someone who truly delights in spending time with children and who will become a caring, positive, and trusted presence in their daughter’s life. Child engagement will always be the priority, while child-related household tasks—including preparing snacks and lunch, assisting with the child’s laundry, tidying toys and play spaces, and helping maintain an organized afternoon routine—are appreciated and help keep the household running smoothly. Mom prepares dinner each evening, and the parents take over for family dinner and bedtime routines.
This family values kindness, curiosity, and raising their daughter in an environment rooted in science and evidence-based decision-making. They are seeking a nanny who is current on recommended vaccinations, including flu, COVID-19, and Tdap, as this is an important household requirement. They have two dogs in the home so being a dog lover is also a must! They would love to welcome a professional who is warm, playful, proactive, and excited to grow with their family as they settle into their new community. They are excited to interview and can’t wait to meet you! Apply today!
