Lovely family of 4 in Playa del Rey is seeking a wonderful after-school nanny to support their two school-age children, a 6-year-old boy and an 8-year-old girl. This is a part-time role (15–20 hours/week) with a 3:00pm school pick-up from Notre Dame Academy (near Rancho Park/West LA). The nanny will help with after-school routines including preparing healthy snacks and simple dinner prep, assisting with homework (mostly encouragement and double-checking), and keeping things running smoothly at home. While the kids decompress, responsibilities will also include organizing backpacks, packing lunches for the next day, kids’ laundry, loading/unloading the dishwasher, and keeping common areas and kid spaces neat and tidy. When time allows, the family would love someone who enjoys baking or cooking with the kids, encouraging outdoor play, trips to the park, games, crafts, and generally keeping afternoons fun, active, and engaging.
LOCATION: Playa del Rey, CA
START DATE: ASAP
SCHEDULE: Monday–Friday, 3:00pm–6:00pm (family is happy to guarantee 20 hours/week if you’re flexible to add in a date night or those extra 5 hours throughout the week)
COMPENSATION: $30–35/hr gross, DOE
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Pet-friendly (family has 2 cats and 1 dog; no pet care required)
- Strong driving record with a safe, reliable vehicle (mileage reimbursed)
- 3+ years of experience with school-age children
- Water safe – neighbors have a pool and the kids often swim in the summers
- Glowing references from former families
- Comfortable working in a gluten-free household and mindful of food safety
