Family of 4 in Saratoga, CA (near San Jose) are seeking a French-speaking nanny to care for their 2 children, ages 13 (girl) and 7 (boy), who are trilingual (French, Russian, and English)! This is a split shift position (and live-out) and a very child-centric role; the expectation is that you will be speaking to these kids exclusively in French. Your day will start with getting the kids up, fed, and dropped off at school (using provided nanny car) and then you’ll have a break from 8:30 – 3:30 pm. You’ll prepare snacks for the kids, pick them up from school (2 different schools), drive them to activities, help with homework, and work with them on their French language skills (spoken and written); your day ends with dropping their oldest off at home. Additional tasks will include laundry for the youngest child and helping him keep his room/things tidy.
LOCATION: Saratoga, CA
SCHEDULE: Mon-Fri (split shift), 7:00am-8:30am + 3:30pm-8pm (40 hours guaranteed) + occasional weekend French tutoring (1-2 hours).
COMPENSATION: $35-45/hr+ gross Based on Experience
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Native French speaker – No Exceptions
- Experience with School Age Kids
- Strong Driving Record
- Annual Flu Shot Preferred
- Pet friendly, they have guinea pigs and a German Shepherd
Their teenage daughter is incredibly bright, sophisticated and mature for her age, very friendly but a little shy, and is very athletic (she plays tennis competitively). Their son is an easygoing and happy kid, and will need a little encouragement in all things French – it’s his least favorite of the 3 languages they speak.
