An engaged and loving family in Palms (Mar Vista adjacent) is seeking a thoughtful, proactive, and hands-on Nanny/Family Assistant to care for their bright and curious 7-year-old son. This position guarantees 35 hours per week and blends child-focused care with family assistant duties. Their son is highly social and academically minded, with a love for math, books, writing stories, coloring, and creative activities. He is on the autism spectrum and thrives with thoughtful support; an ABA resource is available to guide the nanny with strategies and tools. He is an indoor kid who feels most comfortable at home, so the family is looking for someone who enjoys engaging him there rather than relying on frequent outings. He is mostly potty trained during the day, with occasional accidents, and benefits from reminders to use the bathroom approximately every two hours. He is in school until 2:30pm, just two blocks from home and easily walkable. Weekly after school activities include gymnastics, swim, and occupational therapy, with the nanny providing transposrtation to activities, and lending support as needed. Mornings will include family assistant responsibilities such as light housekeeping, tidying, food prep, grocery shopping, running errands for mom, receiving packages, managing household vendors, and kid laundry. The family currently has a beloved nanny, placed by WSN, who is transitioning out of the role due to personal obligations. She will remain through November 20th to help ensure a smooth transition, and the family would ideally love their new nanny to overlap and shadow her for 1–2 weeks, with a target start date in mid-November.
LOCATION: Palms, Los Angeles, CA
START DATE: Mid-November 2026
SCHEDULE: Guaranteed 35 hours/week; general hours are Mon-Fri 11am–5/6:30pm; flexibility to work extended hours (e.g., 8am–6pm) on school holidays or sick days is a must. The family also has the school calendar well in advance, making days off easy to plan for. There may be occasional last-minute changes, but the overall schedule is very predictable.
COMPENSATION: $35/hr gross, via payroll; mileage reimbursed for driving to activities
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience supporting a child on the autism spectrum (personal or professional)
- ABA background ideal
- Reliable personal vehicle for activity transportation (mileage reimbursed; school is within walking distance)
- Strong command of English (reading, writing, and verbal communication)
- Capable and confident with household management duties
- Up-to-date on Tdap and MMR vaccinations
- Phone-free while on duty and fully engaged
- Calm, patient, and confident setting appropriate boundaries

The ideal candidate is warm, intuitive, confident, and steady, with the ability to recognize when this little guy is becoming overwhelmed and help him work through those moments. His feelings can become very big, and the family approaches these situations through communication and redirection rather than traditional discipline. Someone with ABA experience will be especially well suited to understanding his cues and helping him re-engage. He does particularly well with adults who are firm and confident while remaining patient and supportive. The nanny should also genuinely enjoy spending time at home and be creative about keeping him engaged with activities that align with his interests. Mom is laid-back and trusting and will not micromanage; she’s looking for someone who can confidently take ownership of the role, communicate well, and become a dependable part of their family. The family is looking to identify the right long-term fit soon. If you’re a reliable, engaged nanny who thrives in a structured yet heart-forward environment, we encourage you to apply today!
