A warm and loving family is seeking an experienced, kind-hearted, and reliable full-time nanny to join their household long-term. The family has three children — an almost 5-year-old, a 1-year-old, and a 14-year-old boy who is with them part-time (joint custody).
LOCATION: Brentwood, CA (Greater Los Angeles Area) + occasional time spent at their 2nd home in Malibu.
SCHEDULE: Approximately 50-60 hours/week, with flexibility.
- Typical schedule includes mornings starting at 7:00 AM to help get the children ready for school, afternoon breaks, help with school pickups in the afternoon, evening family time and dinner around 5:00–6:00 PM, and bedtime support several nights a week.
- Occasional Saturday help and evening babysitting a few times per week.
- Sundays off
- There may be an additional live-in nanny involved, so please be comfortable working as a part-of a team (while also remaining fully confident in your ability to work solo, should they not have additional support).
COMPENSATION: $30-$35 per hour + applicable overtime.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Local candidates only: Applicants must already live in and be very familiar with Los Angeles, including confident navigation and driving throughout the city.
- Dog-friendly home: The family has three beloved dogs, and a genuine love for animals is essential. Responsibilities include caring for the dogs when the family travels (nanny will not be required to travel), and general pet care such as letting them out in the garden, feeding them, etc.
- Travel not required. An international nanny based in the UK handles travel and jet lag-related childcare needs. This role is fully LA-based.
DUTIES:
- Creating a warm, loving, and stimulating environment for the children.
- Age-appropriate developmental activities for the younger children.
- Helping with school routines, meals, bedtime, and occasional babysitting.
- Pet care and occasional house-sitting for dogs during family travel.
- Driving children to/from activities, school, and appointments.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must live in Los Angeles currently and have a strong knowledge of the city.
- Confident driver of large SUVs on LA streets (vehicle provided for work and occasional personal use).
- First aid certified and confident in handling childcare emergencies.
- Comfortable working in a home with pets and taking responsibility for their care.
- Confident Swimmer.
- Warm, loving, energetic, flexible, and organized.
- Experience with multiple children and a background in long-term nanny roles preferred.
This is a truly special opportunity for a dedicated nanny who is looking to grow with a kind and respectful family for years to come. The ideal candidate will be proactive, emotionally intelligent, and committed to helping raise happy, confident, and well-cared-for children in a warm and loving home environment.
