A warm and energetic family of four in Bel Air is seeking a full-time nanny to care for their two very active children, ages 5½ and almost 2. The family values creativity, learning, and a screen-free lifestyle, and they’re looking for a caregiver who can match the children’s boundless energy and curiosity.
The children thrive on imaginative play, outdoor adventures, and hands-on learning. A typical day might include swimming in the family’s pool, bouncing on their 15-foot trampoline (sometimes as a playmate, sometimes as the “crocodile” under it!), building forts, hiking local trails, and exploring nature. The ideal candidate enjoys being active and is comfortable in nature (including encounters with local wildlife such as coyotes), and able to fully participate in play on the ground, in the pool, and in the yard.

SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday 8:30AM-5PM

COMPENSATION: $40/hr gross
REQUIREMENTS:
- Extensive preschool-age childcare experience and strong understanding of developmental milestones
- Background in Early Childhood Education or Child Development strongly preferred
- Strong swimming skills and comfort in the pool with children
- Safe, reliable driver with personal vehicle and experience installing car seats
- Comfortable lifting/carrying the children whenever needed (50+ lbs)
- Comfortable in outdoor, nature-filled settings
- Able to prepare quick, healthy meals in line with the family’s dietary restrictions
- Positive, proactive, and detail-oriented personality
- Patience, punctuality, and a safety-conscious mindset
- Math and science skills to support early learning; chess skills a plus
- Bilingual in German or Russian is a bonus, but not required
DUTIES:
- Engage children in interactive, screen-free activities (indoor imaginative play, outdoor games, nature walks, hiking, fort building, balance beams, swings, and swimming)
- Confidently swim with children in the pool daily
- Support ongoing learning, especially in math and science, through games and activities
- Play chess with the children (or learn, if unfamiliar)
- Handle school drop-off and pick-up for the older child, using own vehicle and safely installing car seats
- Prepare healthy, on-demand meals for children when needed (family cook prepares most meals except Thursdays)
- Adhere to family’s dietary guidelines: no sugar, no fried foods, no refined carbs (pasta, pizza, white rice, bread, crackers), only brown rice, no fruit, and avoidance of fruit vendors at parks
- Maintain children’s oral hygiene — brushing after every meal/snack, flossing multiple times daily, and encouraging water as the only beverage
- Pack food for outings
- Change diapers and assist with potty training for the younger child
- Keep children’s play areas organized and tidy; handle light household tasks such as folding laundry, washing dishes, and organizing toys
- Occasionally run errands and assist with general household organization
