An engaged and loving family in Palms (Mar Vista adjacent) is seeking a thoughtful, proactive, and hands-on Nanny/Family Assistant to care for their bright and curious 6-year-old son. This position guarantees 35 hours per week and blends child-focused care with family assistant duties, making it ideal for a candidate who thrives with structure and variety. Their son is highly social and academic – he loves books, math, and language – and while he is on the autism spectrum, he is thriving with support in place, including an ABA resource to guide the nanny with strategies and tools. He’s in school until 2:30pm daily, and the family is looking for someone who can provide structured, responsive childcare in the afternoons and help with family/household assistance in the mornings: light housekeeping, keeping things tidied, food prep, grocery shopping, running errands for mom, recieveing packages, managing household vendors, and kid laundry. They are eager to find someone special to step into this important role as soon as possible!
LOCATION: Palms, Los Angeles, CA
START DATE: ASAP
SCHEDULE: Guaranteed 35 hours/week; general hours are 11am–5/6:30pm depending on custody schedule. Flexibility to work extended hours (e.g., 8am–6pm) on school holidays or sick days is a must.
COMPENSATION: $30/hour gross via payroll
QUALIFICATIONS:
Reliable personal vehicle for school pick-up and activity drop-off (mileage reimbursed)
Strong command of English (reading, writing, and verbal communication)
Comfortable supporting a child on the autism spectrum (experience not required – just an open heart and willingness to learn)
Experience with or willingness to assist with toilet training
Capable and confident in executing household management duties (e.g., grocery shopping, food prep, tidying, receiving packages, light errands)
Up-to-date on Tdap and MMR vaccinations
Phone-free while on duty and fully engaged
Able to set clear, firm boundaries while remaining calm and patient
The ideal candidate is warm yet grounded – someone who brings a calm, steady energy to their work and doesn’t get easily flustered. This little guy is incredibly sweet and even-keeled most of the time but will benefit from a nanny who has a high tolerance for patience, can stay one step ahead, and understands how to de-escalate moments with quiet confidence. The family isn’t looking for perfection, just someone who genuinely cares, takes initiative, and is ready to be a partner in creating a stable and nurturing environment. Mom is laid-back and trusting and will not micromanage; she’s looking for a nanny who can confidently step into the role and create a rhythm that works well for everyone. The family is looking to move quickly and hopes to identify the right long-term fit soon. If you’re a reliable, engaged nanny who thrives in a structured yet heart-forward environment, we encourage you to apply today!
