Patient, professional and innovative caregiver NEEDED for a 14-year-old boy who has severe autism (he is non-verbal), ADHD, and learning differences/special needs. These wonderful parents are seeking a highly skilled and trained caregiver to tag team with mom during the week! Mom is very hands-on and is currently homeschooling her son, so they are looking for someone who is a strong team player with great communication skills. In order to be considered for the position you should have 5+ years of special needs experience (specifically hands-on experience working with children who have Autism and a strong working knowledge of how to navigate challenging behavior) and ideally prior experience working with teens! Behavioral specialists are highly encouraged to apply!
LOCATION: Topanga, CA (5 minutes from Woodland Hills)
SCHEDULE: Monday, Thursday, Friday from 1 PM-4 PM + every other Saturday from 9 AM-2 PM
RATE: $40-$45/hr gross, depending on experience
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working with children who have autism
- MUST be comfortable working as a team with mom
- Teen experienced IDEAL
- COVID vaccine/boosters highly preferred, although not required for the perfect fit
General job duties include helping mom with the daily routine, and planning and participating in fun outings to keep him active and engaged in activities (and off his iPad/phone)!
