A warm and active family in Sherman Oaks is seeking a kind, reliable, and emotionally attuned nanny to care for their two children, ages 11 and 8. The role involves daily school pick-up in the Winnetka/Woodland Hills area and transporting the children home to Sherman Oaks, where afternoons are spent with lessons, play, and swimming. Mom and dad are separate but they a fabulous coparents- the kids stay in the same house while the parents switch back and forth (some weeks you will work with mom, other weeks you will work with dad, all at the same residence).
They have an 11 Year Old Boy (in 6th grade) + and 8 Year Old Girl (in 3rd grade). Their 11 year old is diagnosed with ADHD and currently on medication, he has transitioned from a high-energy child to a quieter, low-key preteen. Their 8 year old is sensitive, affectionate, and emotionally expressive, she thrives with consistency and support. She is deeply interested in reptiles and proudly identifies as a budding herpetologist.
LOCATION: Sherman Oaks, CA (Greater Los Angeles Area)
SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday; 1/2PM-6PM
COMPENSATION: $35/hour Gross
REQUIREMENTS:
Experienced working with school-aged children.
Pet Friendly (cat, dog + snake)
Warm, patient, and emotionally supportive.
CPR certified
Comfortable supervising swimming.
Vaccinated against COVID-19 and flu (preferred).
Reliable transportation for school pick-up.
Responsibilities:
Safely pick up children from school and drive them home.
Prepare healthy snacks and maintain daily routines.
Supervise activities, including swimming (no need to swim, only to supervise confidently).
Foster social-emotional learning, encouraging open conversations about feelings, kindness, and independence.
Provide consistent, loving care and serve as a steady presence in the children’s lives.
The household includes a sweet, cuddly cat (always present), a small dog (occasionally present), and a pet snake named Cheeto (securely housed in an aquarium—no responsibilities required).
