Wonderful return clients in Brentwood (Los Angeles) are searching for an exceptional after-school nanny to become a true extension of their family beginning this September! They’ve been fortunate to have an incredible Westside Nanny as part of their family for the past three years. As she begins an exciting new chapter and explores other opportunities, they’re now hoping to find another exceptional long-term nanny who will become just as cherished and make a lasting impact on their children’s lives. After experiencing the unimaginable loss of their Pacific Palisades home in the fires, followed by flooding in their current home that has prompted yet another move, this resilient family will be settling into another Brentwood home soon, and they’re hoping to find a warm, dependable nanny who will grow alongside them for years to come.

The schedule is primarily Monday through Thursday from 3:00 PM–7:00 PM and Friday from 2:00 PM–7:00 PM (occasionally ending around 6:30 PM), with the understanding that flexibility is an important part of the role. When school is out for holidays, spring break, teacher workdays, or other scheduled closures, the nanny will step into full-day care (typically 9:00 AM–5:00 PM or 11:00 AM–6:00 PM, depending on the family’s needs). The family also appreciates flexibility for the occasional Friday date night, evening parent-teacher conferences, or the rare sick day when one of the children needs to stay home.

Their two wonderful children each have very different personalities, their 11-year-old son is bright, independent, and easygoing. While he doesn’t require constant supervision, he thrives with a trusted adult who can provide guidance, navigate the ever-changing world of preteen friendships, and serve as a positive mentor while keeping open communication with Mom and Dad. Their 8-year-old daughter takes longer to warm up to new people, but once you’ve earned her trust, you’re in for something truly special. Their current nanny has become her very best friend, and they hope to recreate that same close bond. She has mild language processing challenges and is borderline dyslexic, working with a tutor five days a week, so they’re looking for someone who is patient, encouraging, emotionally intuitive, and genuinely enjoys helping children build confidence.

This family believes personality is everything. They’re looking for someone calm, kind, emotionally intelligent, and naturally nurturing—someone who can be both a trusted friend and a respected authority. A background in education or child development would be a wonderful fit, along with a strong understanding of social-emotional development and the ability to support homework for children entering 3rd and 6th grade. Responsibilities include school pick-up, transporting the children safely to activities, engaging them in meaningful conversation and play, homework support, preparing simple snacks or meals as needed, and keeping the children’s spaces and common areas neat and organized (no deep cleaning required).

The family takes great pride in maintaining a clean, organized home and values excellent judgment, attention to detail, and healthy habits. Shoes stay at the door, handwashing is second nature, and safety—especially behind the wheel—is non-negotiable. Because they prioritize consistency and minimizing illness exposure, they’re hoping to find someone for whom this will be their primary position, rather than someone juggling another morning nanny role with a different family. If you’re a thoughtful, engaging professional who loves building lasting relationships, understands the unique needs of both preteens and elementary-aged children, and is looking for a long-term role with an appreciative, down-to-earth family, this is an incredibly special opportunity.
