A loving, single mom is seeking a dedicated, experienced nanny to support her bright and affectionate, autistic 9-year-old son in Santa Monica Mom is looking for a true partner, advocate, and caregiver who will build a meaningful, lasting relationship with her child. Her son is a kind, curious, and joyful boy who thrives with structure, patience, and gentle guidance. The ideal candidate is someone who is happy, energetic, and engaging, while also bringing a calm, grounded presence and deep patience.
DUTIES:
- School pickup and safe transportation
- Assisting with daily routines (feeding, dressing, toileting, and ongoing potty training support)
- Engaging in play-based learning, creative activities, and outings (park, swimming, sensory play)
- Supporting emotional regulation and using calming techniques when needed
- Assisting with appointments and therapies as needed
- Encouraging development of life skills and independence
- Providing attentive, hands-on care and supervision at all times
While he is at school, responsibilities may include:
- Running errands and grocery shopping
- Preparing simple, healthy meals and snacks (no sugar)
- Maintaining organization of his play areas and handling his laundry
LOCATION: Santa Monica, CA
SCHEDULE (School Year): 35 hours weekly
- Monday: 1:00pm–7:00pm
- Tuesday: 1:00pm–7:00pm
- Wednesday: 12:30pm–6:30pm
- Thursday: 11:00am–5:00pm
- Friday: 1:00pm–7:00pm
Summer Schedule:
- Monday–Friday: 9:15am–3:15pm
RATE: $35–$40/hour DOE
REQUIREMENTS
- Experience working with children on the autism spectrum
- ABA experience strongly preferred
- Patient, calm, and emotionally attuned
- Energetic, playful, and truly enjoys engaging with children
- Proactive, dependable, and highly responsible
- A strong communicator who can partner closely with mom
- Looking for a long-term role and to become part of the family
- Up to date on TDAP, MMR vaccines, willing to get the flu shot annually, and at least one round of Covid vaccinations
