A warm and welcoming single mom in Redondo Beach is seeking an experienced, engaging nanny to care for her incredible 12-year-old son with autism. This is a unique opportunity to support a bright, affectionate, and funny preteen who thrives with consistency, creativity, and kindness. He is verbal, easily redirected, knows how to self-soothe when overstimulated, and benefits from a calm caregiver who understands sensory sensitivities and can provide gentle support when needed.The position offers full-time hours during the summer and a part-time schedule throughout the school year. Responsibilities include engaging him in play and activities based on his interests (cars, trucks, buses, bugs, games, and creative projects), providing transportation to Tae Kwon Do and art classes, preparing simple meals for him, assisting with light housekeeping, and offering hands-on support with daily routines, including assistance with toileting (#2) and hand-over-hand guidance with teeth brushing.

SCHEDULE:
Summer Months:
- Three full days: 6:00 AM–5:30 PM
- Two afternoon shifts: 2:30 PM–5:30 PM
The family is flexible and open to splitting the schedule if needed, as the current nanny may be available to continue covering 6am-12pm 3x a week
School Year:
- Monday: 1:30 PM–5:30 PM (with the possibility of extending until 7:30 PM)
- Tuesday & Wednesday: 6:00–8:00 AM and 2:30–5:30 PM
- Thursday: 2:30–5:30 PM (with the possibility of extending until 7:30 PM)
- Friday: 6:00–8:00 AM and 2:30–5:30 PM
The family is flexible and open to splitting the schedule if needed, as the current nanny may be available to continue covering some morning hours.
COMPENSATION: $35-40/hour gross, DOE
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be fully vaccinated, including Tdap, MMR, annual flu vaccine, and COVID-19 vaccination (boosters are flexible). The family is especially diligent about minimizing illness exposure due to the child’s Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia (BPD).
- Experience caring for children with autism
- Comfortable providing hands-on assistance with personal care, including toileting and hygiene routines.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and willingness to use your own car for transporting the child (mileage reimbursed)
