A wonderful, traditional family who recently relocated from London to Washington, D.C. is seeking an experienced ROTA Nanny to care for their two children , a bright 6-year-old girl and an active 3-year-old boy. This is a live-in position during your working week, with a private bedroom and bathroom on your own floor of the home. Both children are in school from 8:30am-3:00pm

The family values structure, strong communication, and teamwork. Both parents lead busy, professional lives; mom works primarily from home. The household is fully staffed, and the environment is warm, respectful, and collaborative. The family’s approach is traditional yet loving, and they hope to find a nanny who will become part of their extended family.

The ideal candidate is highly educated, organized, and proactive, someone who genuinely loves children and is invested in supporting their growth through reading, problem-solving, and play. A positive, flexible attitude and comfort working in a team-oriented home are essential.

DUTIES:

  • Provide attentive, developmentally focused care for two children (ages 3 and 6)
  • Create engaging, age-appropriate activities that encourage reading, curiosity, and independence
  • Support children’s daily routines, including morning and bedtime
  • Handle school drop-offs and pick-ups (8:30 AM and3:00 PM)
  • Pack lunches, prepare simple children’s meals, and assist with light tidying related to the kids
  • Communicate effectively with parents and household staff to ensure consistency and collaboration
  • Travel with the family as needed (domestic and international)
  • Foster a positive, structured, and happy home environment

LOCATION: Washington, D.C.

SCHEDULE: One week on / One week off (ROTA) — Live-in during shift

COMPENSATION: Target annual salary of $120,000 gross + $500/month health insurance stipend

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Extensive experience caring for children ages 3–6
  • Prior ROTA and travel-heavy nanny experience strongly preferred
  • College-educated or equivalent experience in early childhood development
  • Deep understanding of developmental milestones and educational support
  • Comfortable in a fully staffed home (chef, housekeeper, PA)
  • Valid passport; travel-ready and flexible
  • Up to date on Tdap and MMR
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
