Do you always know the newest exhibit, coolest museum, hidden gem, or must-see pop-up in Los Angeles? Are you the person who can turn an ordinary Tuesday into an unforgettable adventure? A wonderful family of four visiting from the East Coast is seeking a creative, engaging, and emotionally intelligent Family Assistant/Mentor to help create an enriching and memorable summer for their two children. The family is looking for someone who can become a trusted extension of the family, partnering closely with Mom while serving as a subtle, positive role model for their bright 16-year-old son. The ideal candidate understands that mentorship isn’t about being authoritative, but about building trust, encouraging confidence, and creating genuine connections. At the same time, you’ll be planning exciting experiences tailored to each child. One day you may be taking their son to the Petersen Automotive Museum or discovering the best local card shop. Next, you could be finding the latest slime pop-up, an art workshop, or an exciting camp for their energetic 7-year-old daughter. The goal is simple: create a summer filled with adventure, confidence-building experiences, and meaningful connections while becoming a trusted and valued part of the family’s summer.

This family is looking for someone who can:

  • Create a fun, structured, and memorable summer.
  • Plan exciting outings and activities throughout Los Angeles.
  • Build a genuine relationship with both children while serving as a positive mentor.
  • Help create healthy routines and encourage positive family dynamics.
  • Research camps, workshops, museums, and activities based on each child’s unique interests.

DUTIES

  • Drive the children to and from camps, activities, appointments, and outings.
  • Build a positive mentoring relationship with the family’s 16-year-old son while partnering closely with Mom.
  • Engage the 7-year-old in creative, confidence-building activities.
  • Prepare simple, healthy meals and snacks for the children.
  • Assist with light meal prep for the family as needed.
  • Help keep the home organized by unloading the dishwasher, tidying common areas, and assisting with child-related laundry and organization.
  • Run family errands, including grocery pick-ups, returns, and other household tasks.
  • Provide general family assistant support to help the household run smoothly.
  • Plan activities and excursions for the family to enjoy together during portions of their summer stay.
