This Warm + Loving Santa Monica family is looking for a Mother’s Helper to join their afternoon rhythm and become a steady, positive presence in their home. Originally from the Bay Area, they’ve weathered a lot—including losing their home in the Palisades fires—and after moving between rentals, they’ve finally landed in a place they truly love, close to the kids’ school!
With two bright, busy school-aged kids (a sporty, silly 9-year-old boy who thrives with structure and reminders, and an accomplished, motivated 11-year-old girl who loves reading, math, theatre, debate, robotics, and sports), they’re seeking an extra set of hands to help afternoons run smoothly. This is very much a “tag-team with mom” role—some days helping shuttle kids to different activities, other days supporting homework time, running small errands, or prepping simple, healthy family dinners like salmon with veggies or taco night. The focus is on guidance rather than doing everything for the kids: helping create systems, checklists, and routines that encourage independence, responsibility, and confidence.
LOCATION: Santa Monica, CA
COMPENSATION: $35/hr Gross
SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday 3PM-7PM

The ideal candidate is bright, cheerful, calm, and genuinely enjoys school-aged kids. They’re a confident driver (comfortable using a parent car or their own), happy helping out in the kitchen to prepare family dinners each night, and able to keep kid-related spaces tidy and organized. This person brings a positive attitude, a grounding presence, and flexibility—because no two afternoons look exactly the same. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 3–7pm, with the kids home around 4pm, and mom typically handling school pick-up. The family is hoping for a long-term fit (2+ years), values someone healthy and up to date on standard vaccines, and would love to welcome a dependable helper who can grow with them as a trusted part of their daily life. They are eager to interview and are looking to have their mother’s helper start ASAP!
