A warm, busy family in Cheviot Hills is seeking a proactive, highly organized Family Assistant/Nanny to support their two children (ages 5 and 8) and help keep their household running smoothly. Family is open to either a live-in arrangement during overnight shifts or a live-out candidate. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys wearing many hats and thrives in a collaborative environment. Mom works part-time and is very hands-on with the children, while the family also employs a full-time housekeeper four days a week, so this role is focused on childcare, household support, and family assistance rather than deep cleaning. Responsibilities include school pick-up and drop-off using family’s Tesla (approximately 2 hours of driving daily), transporting the children to after-school activities, running errands, grocery shopping, preparing family dinners, organizing and putting away laundry, and ironing children’s clothing and school uniforms, steaming parents’ clothing as needed.
LOCATION: Cheviot Hills, CA
START DATE: Mid-August (Family will be traveling July 13th-August 17th and would love to complete a trial before departing.)
SCHEDULE:
- Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday: 12:00 PM-7:00/8:00 PM
- Tuesday: 6:30 AM-6:30 PM
- Occasional overnight care required when parents travel (typically scheduled at least one month in advance).
- Flexibility to stay later on Fridays and occasional Saturdays is preferred.
RATE: $40/hour gross
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior experience as a Family Assistant and/or nanny with school-aged children
- Excellent driving record (nanny car provided)
- Highly organized with strong multitasking skills
- Comfortable running errands and managing household tasks alongside childcare
- Happy to prepare healthy family dinners
- Flexible schedule with availability for occasional evenings, Saturdays, overnight care, and family travel (approximately eight weeks per year)
- Professional, reliable, and proactive with excellent communication skills
- Understanding of or appreciation for Asian culture is strongly preferred – mom is Indonesian
- Open to travel, valid passport or willingness to obtain one
