OPEN TO CANDIDATES NATIONWIDE! A private family in Dallas, TX is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and highly proactive Live-In Nanny to support their 11-year-old son, who is on the autism spectrum. This full-time position is ideal for a nanny who takes initiative, enjoys creating engaging, developmentally appropriate activities, and is invested in supporting a child’s communication, learning, and growing independence. The family is looking for someone who will take ownership of the role rather than simply supervise or follow an established routine. Responsibilities include morning and evening care, school-day transitions, individualized learning and enrichment activities, support with daily living skills, and preparing gluten-free and dairy-free meals and snacks. Domestic and international travel is part of the role, and the family welcomes a nanny who is excited to travel with them.

  • Ability to support a child with limited verbal communication, including the use of an assistive communication device.
  • Experience encouraging age-appropriate independence with daily living skills, including dressing and feeding.
  • Strong activity-planning skills and the ability to independently create engaging experiences that support learning, communication, movement, and development.
  • Comfortable swimming and supervising a child in and around a pool.

  • Pet-friendly and comfortable around 2 small poodles.
  • Valid passport and willingness to travel domestically and internationally with the family.
  • Ability to prepare and adhere to a gluten-free and dairy-free diet for the child.

The ideal candidate is warm, patient, emotionally attuned, and genuinely invested in helping a child with special needs thrive. He is an affectionate, sensitive child who enjoys music, dance, stretching, obstacle courses, swimming, and spending time outdoors. His parents are looking for someone who will take a genuine interest in his development, observe how he learns and responds, and thoughtfully adapt activities to help him build skills and confidence over time. A calm, reassuring approach and the ability to navigate occasional emotional moments with patience are essential.
