Sweet family of 4 in Santa Monica is seeking a calm, nurturing, and experienced nanny to care for their two daughters, ages 17 months and 3 years old. Both parents work full-time. Mom works in person on Mondays and Fridays, and from home Tuesday–Thursday (though she is frequently in meetings). Dad works outside the home. This is a wonderful opportunity for a nanny who truly enjoys early childhood, values gentle caregiving, and thrives in a quiet, screen-free household where connection and engagement are the priority.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Full-day care for the younger toddler
- Preschool pickup for the 3 year old (nanny car provided)
- Afternoon care for both children (generally 1pm-5pm)
- Preparing simple vegetarian meals for the children (think beans, rice, vegetables, cheese, etc.)
- Children’s laundry
- Keeping play areas and children’s rooms tidy and organized
- Supporting naps and quiet time
- Comforting children through big feelings and talking through tantrums
- Strictly maintaining a screen-free environment
START DATE: ASAP
LOCATION: Santa Monica, CA
SCHEDULE: General schedule is 8:00AM-5:00 PM (40-45 hours weekly)
COMPENSATION: $35/hr plus OT (on payroll) plus 2 weeks PTO and 2 weeks paid sick leave
REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong experience caring for two young children with a 1–2 year age gap
- Confident managing both toddler and preschool-aged children
- Calm, gentle, and nurturing demeanor; well-suited to a quiet, more introverted household
- Highly engaged and invested in childcare and play; children always come first
- Comfortable in a strictly screen-free household (no phone use except emergencies)
- Open, honest, and proactive communicator who keeps parents informed, especially regarding any injuries or concerns
- Comfortable supporting the family’s approach to sleep (no sleep training; you’ll need to rock the younger child to sleep and transfer her into crib)
- Health-conscious; willing to mask when feeling unwell
- Up to date on Tdap and MMR, open to flu and COVID vaccines preferred
- Clean driving record
