Exceptional return clients in Santa Monica are seeking a sophisticated, highly organized Family Assistant to join their well-run, fully staffed household. This is a full, energetic, and collaborative household. Mom is home, Dad works from home, and the grandparents visit frequently. The home is fully staffed, including a full-time nanny, full-time housekeeper, and personal chef (who prepares meals for the parents). The Family Assistant will work closely within this team and should be comfortable operating in a high-functioning, well-structured environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Childcare Support
• Provide attentive, nurturing care for either the preschooler or infant for approximately 2–4 hours daily
• Plan and facilitate enriching, developmentally appropriate activities
• Foster language development through reading, conversation, and interactive play
• Support naps, diapering, and potty training in alignment with the parents’ approach
• Maintain a strictly screen-free caregiving environment
• Be confident and comfortable swimming with the children
Kitchen & Household Support
• Prepare fresh, healthy meals for the children using family recipes
• Conduct weekly grocery shopping and maintain a well-stocked kitchen
Household Organization & Management
• Maintain exceptional organization throughout the home (closets, pantry, children’s spaces, garage)
• Track household supplies and manage reordering
• Oversee packages, returns, and general household logistics
• Coordinate and liaise with vendors
• Assist with simple home upkeep (watering plants, outdoor furniture care, light fixes)
• Support entertaining needs, including party preparation and gift wrapping
• Assist parents with errands and scheduling as needed
LOCATION: Santa Monica, CA
SCHEDULE: Monday–Friday 9:15am–5:15pm
• Occasional early mornings (~7:30am) to meet vendors, anticipated approximately once per month
• Support for occasional weekend entertaining (approximately once every three months)
• Some overtime required
COMPENSATION: $35–$45/hour gross DOE (on payroll)
REQUIREMENTS
• Extensive experience with infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children
• College degree required (Early Childhood coursework strongly preferred)
• Physically active and able to fully engage with young children
• Excellent driving record
• Up to date on vaccinations (Tdap, MMR, flu, COVID; willing to receive Hepatitis A)
• Polished, discreet, and comfortable in a high-net-worth household setting
