Wonderful first-time parents in Santa Monica are seeking an experienced, nurturing nanny for their 4-month-old baby. Both parents work from home and are looking for a long-term nanny who can grow with their family for years to come. The ideal candidate has extensive hands-on newborn experience, including caring for multiple young infants throughout their career, and is confident supporting developmental milestones, establishing healthy routines, and implementing sleep training when appropriate. They are seeking a collaborative nanny who brings a wealth of infant knowledge and professional experience to the table while partnering closely with the parents. This family would love someone who is proactive, nurturing, and confident guiding their baby’s development while respecting their parenting goals and working together as a team. They also have two beloved family dogs and would love to find someone who genuinely enjoys interacting with them and making them part of the day.
DUTIES:
- Providing attentive, developmentally appropriate care for their 4-month-old baby
- Feeding, soothing, and supporting age-appropriate naps and routines
- Assisting with sleep training and establishing healthy sleep habits
- Tracking developmental milestones and encouraging age-appropriate growth and development
- Planning engaging activities that foster learning and enrichment
- Collaborating closely with parents while confidently bringing professional newborn expertise and guidance
- Maintaining the nursery and baby bathroom
- Washing, folding, and organizing baby laundry
- Cleaning and sanitizing bottles and baby-related items
- Unloading the dishwasher
- Tidying common areas used throughout the day
- Picking up and organizing dog toys
- Feeding, interacting with, and occasionally walking two family dogs
- Letting in and coordinating with service providers as needed
- Providing occasional family assistant support as the family’s needs evolve
SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:00 PM (specific schedule will be discussed during the interview, but 40 guaranteed hours per week) with flexibility for occasional evenings and weekends with advance notice.
COMPENSATION: $35-$40/hour DOE, 2 weeks paid vacation, and some paid holidays.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Extensive newborn and infant experience
- Experience caring for multiple young infants throughout your career
- Strong knowledge of infant milestones and early childhood development
- Experience with sleep training and establishing healthy routines
- Collaborative personality who enjoys partnering with parents while confidently bringing professional knowledge and experience
- Longevity in previous positions
- Comfortable working alongside work-from-home parents
- Genuine dog lover who enjoys interacting with and caring for two family dogs
- Spanish-speaking is a bonus, but not required
- Open to occasional travel (not required)
- Current Tdap and MMR vaccinations
- Willingness to receive an annual flu shot
- COVID booster is not required but considered a plus
