A wonderful family of four in Santa Monica is seeking a warm, energetic, and highly flexible part-time nanny for their two fun, outgoing girls, ages 7 and 9! Mom is a surgeon in Beverly Hills, and Dad works remotely but travels frequently for business. They’re looking for someone dependable who can help with after-school care and provide additional coverage when Dad travels.
During Week A, when Dad is home, the nanny will primarily provide after-school care approximately four afternoons per week. The family will guarantee 12 hours per week. Responsibilities include school pick-ups, driving the girls to activities such as gymnastics and Taekwondo, engaging with them, assisting with homework, preparing simple meals and snacks, and helping keep the afternoon routine running smoothly.
During Week B, when Dad is traveling, the family will guarantee approximately 25–30 hours. On Dad’s travel days, the nanny will typically work a split shift of approximately 6:00–8:30 AM, helping the girls get ready and driving them to school, then return around 3:00 PM for school pick-up and stay until Mom gets home, typically between 7:00–9:00 PM.
DUTIES:
- School pickups and drop-offs, including transportation to gymnastics, Taekwondo, and other activities
- Helping with homework and morning/evening routines
- Preparing simple meals and snacks
- Planning fun, engaging activities for two active girls
- Keeping the girls’ schedules and belongings organized
LOCATION: Santa Monica, CA
COMPENSATION: $40–$50/hour DOE! Earn up to $2,100 in a typical two-week period at the highest rate!
SCHEDULE: Alternating weeks based on Dad’s travel schedule, generally provided 4–6 weeks in advance.
- Week A: 12 guaranteed hours, primarily four afternoons per week for school pickups and after-school care.
- Week B: Approximately 25–30 hours when Dad travels, typically 2–3 nights. Split shifts from approximately 6:00–8:30 AM and 3:00–7:00/9:00 PM.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3–5 years of professional childcare experience
- Warm, energetic, responsible, and engaging personality
- Must be flexible for early mornings and evenings during Dad’s travel weeks
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable vehicle
- Organized, dependable, and an excellent communicator
- Comfortable with a variable schedule and occasional additional hours
