A warm and intentional family in West Hills is seeking an experienced, energetic, and emotionally mature Family Assistant to support their household and care for their 5-year-old twins during the after-school hours. Having recently relocated to Los Angeles from the Bay Area, the family values honesty, emotional development, proper nutrition, and creating a respectful, nurturing home environment where their children can thrive. Both parents are actively involved in the children’s lives, with Mom home most of the time and Dad working from home two days per week. They are looking for someone who is comfortable working in a parent-present household, can confidently take ownership of their role, and enjoys collaborating with parents while maintaining clear boundaries and professional communication.
This position is ideal for a proactive Family Assistant who understands the importance of balancing structure with fun! The family has established routines and values consistency and predictability, particularly during the after-school hours. While the twins do not have homework just yet, afternoons may include trips to the playground, after-school activities, visits to the bookstore, and other enriching experiences that encourage curiosity, connection, and development.
LOCATION: West Hills, CA (Greater Los Angeles Area)
SCHEDULE: Monday–Friday, 12:00 PM–6:00 PM
COMPENSATION: $35-$40/hr+ Gross DOE (on payroll as a w2 employee)
REQUIREDMENTS:
- Experience caring for school-aged children (ideally twins or multiples)
- Strong Communicator
- Familiar with modern, gentle, and respectful parenting practices
- Proactive and capable of taking ownership of their role in a parent-present household
- Open to feedback, collaboration, and trying new approaches
- Dog-friendly and comfortable with a large-breed puppy (they are getting a Giant Schnauzer puppy in a few weeks)

Family Assistant duties will include supporting the family with light household tasks such as tidying and organizing common areas, loading and unloading the dishwasher, assisting with laundry, and keeping the kitchen and home neat and orderly. Additional responsibilities may include preparing healthy snacks and simple meals for the children, assisting with grocery shopping and household errands, organizing the children’s belongings, and helping maintain the family’s established routines. As the family welcomes a new Giant Schnauzer puppy, a willingness to be comfortable around and occasionally assist with basic puppy-related needs is also important.
The ideal candidate will embrace a modern, respectful approach to parenting and be open to ongoing communication and collaboration with the parents. The family values gentle, emotionally attuned caregiving and wants someone who will help foster a healthy, loving bond between the twins while encouraging their individual growth and independence.
Beyond childcare, the Family Assistant will help maintain the household’s established routines and support the smooth flow of the afternoon and evening.
