Busy Family of 3 in Pasadena is seeking an engaging, proactive Nanny/Family Assistant to care for their delightful 7-year-old daughter while helping keep their busy household running smoothly. This is a wonderful long-term opportunity for someone who enjoys balancing childcare with family assistant responsibilities. Their daughter is social, creative, and loves spending time creating art, praying, and engaging with others. The family is looking for someone interactive, nurturing, and enjoys becoming an active part of a child’s daily life. This is a true hybrid position, combining attentive childcare with family assistant responsibilities. Both parents have demanding careers and work a hybrid schedule between home and the office, so they’re looking for someone proactive, organized, and enjoys taking initiative.
DUTIES
- School pick-ups and after-school care
- Engage in creative activities, arts and crafts, games, and outdoor play
- Prepare healthy vegan lunches, snacks, and light meal prep for the child
- Family assistant duties include FedEx runs, returns, errands, grocery pick-ups, and household organization
- Help keep common areas and the child’s spaces neat and organized
- Comfortable with a Yorkie Poo in the house
- Swim supervision in the family’s pool
- Occasional overnight care while parents are traveling
- Open to occasional travel (not required)
LOCATION: Pasadena, CA
SCHEDULE: Monday, Wednesday & Friday: 10:00 AM-6:00 PM and Tuesday & Thursday: 3:00 PM-11:00 PM with flexibility to stay later on occasion or come on a weekend
COMPENSATION: $35-$40/hour DOE
REQUIREMENTS
- Previous family assistant experience
- College degree preferred; background in Early Childhood Education or preschool teaching is a plus
- Bonus if you speak Spanish or Korean
- Strong swimmer and comfortable supervising around water
- Interactive, warm, and enjoys creative play
- Proactive, organized, and able to take initiative
- Comfortable with occasional overnight care
- Up-to-date on vaccinations. (TDAP and MMR)
- Clean driving record and reliable transportation
