Sweet parents who recently relocated from New York are looking for an experienced, warm, and engaging nanny to support their incredible 12-year-old son after school. Based in West Hollywood, this is a fantastic opportunity for a nanny who has experience supporting children on the autism spectrum and enjoys building meaningful, long-term relationships. Their son is a joyful, affectionate, and incredibly talented LEGO builder who thrives with routine, encouragement, and patient guidance. While he is 12, he presents as a 6 or 7-year-old. He attends a highly supportive school Mon-Fri (in Sherman Oaks) and participates in speech therapy, occupational therapy, ABA, and other developmental services. Responsibilities include after-school pickup (or meeting him at home once bus transportation is established), transporting him to therapies and activities, preparing simple meals, assisting with kid-related laundry, keeping his spaces organized, and encouraging fun outings that help expand his world beyond home. During in-home therapy sessions, you’ll work alongside his therapy team, observing and participating as appropriate so you can naturally reinforce therapeutic strategies throughout the day.

LOCATION: West Hollywood, CA

START DATE: ASAP

SCHEDULE: Monday–Friday, 2/3PM-8PM.

*Family is open to additional hours if desired! They can offer a full 8 hour shift on Saturday- this is NOT a requirement, just an option if you are needing more hours. 🙂

COMPENSATION: $35–$40/hour gross, DOE

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience caring for children on the autism spectrum (professional experience strongly preferred)
  • Confident supporting children through emotional dysregulation using calm, validating, and proactive approaches

  • Willingness to collaborate with ABA, speech, and occupational therapists and reinforce strategies at home
  • Patient, dependable, and interested in building a long-term relationship with the family

The ideal nanny is calm, nurturing, and naturally encouraging – a true “big sister” type who enjoys connecting with older children and celebrating their unique strengths. This family would love someone who can gently encourage their son to explore new activities, whether that’s swimming, play spaces, community outings, or other adventures, while also knowing how to help him regulate during more challenging moments with patience and empathy. If you’re looking for a rewarding role where you can make a meaningful impact in the life of an incredible child and become part of a warm, welcoming family, we’d love to hear from you. Apply today!
