This private Bay Area family is seeking a highly educated and experienced caregiver to join their therapeutic care team supporting a nonverbal 7-year-old girl with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This is a long-term, 7 days on/7 days off position, with the option to relocate to the Bay Area or, for candidates based elsewhere on the West Coast, fly in and out for each rotation. Off-site housing is provided during the 7-day on rotation. Responsibilities include assisting with dressing, toileting and personal hygiene, transportation to and from school, mealtimes (chef prepared, but you will sit with her), bedtime routines, and creating engaging, developmentally appropriate activities throughout the day. The family is seeking someone who can thoughtfully incorporate therapeutic and behavioral strategies into everyday care while keeping the child’s days active, creative, and fun.

LOCATION: Bay Area, CA

START DATE: ASAP

SCHEDULE: 7 days on/7 days off; weekdays will consist of a split shift covering mornings and after-school/bedtime hours, while weekends will be full days.

COMPENSATION: Top hourly compensation commensurate with experience (target annual compensation of $200K), plus benefits (full medical/dental/vision, and travel/relocation support as applicable

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
  • 5+ years of professional experience
  • Strong working knowledge of ASD, ideally nonverbal children
  • Collaborative – MUST be a team player
  • Strong understanding of therapeutic and behavioral support strategies
  • Must be open to relocate (assistance provided) or be based on the West Coast (flying in/out per rotation).
  • Must know how to swim
  • Passport required – must be travel ready (international and domestic), including weekends and holidays
  • Pet friendly – no allergies (including horses, cows, dogs..)

The ideal candidate will be warm, highly educated, creative, and genuinely enthusiastic about working with children with unique developmental needs. An Occupational Therapist (OT), Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), or candidate with comparable advanced education and specialized autism experience would be particularly well suited to this role. The family is looking for a hands-on caregiver who brings energy and creativity to the child’s day and does not rely on screens for entertainment.
