Wonderful return clients in Santa Clarita are seeking an energetic, engaging, and organized Temporary Nanny/Family Assistant to support their family while they await the arrival of their au pair. This is a 6-8 week assignment, with the possibility of extending should the au pair’s visa be delayed. The family has three children (girls ages 8 and 6, and a 3-year-old boy), along with a friendly Cavapoo puppy and an older cat. Their oldest daughter has ADHD and high-functioning autism, so experience supporting neurodiverse children is highly preferred. This is a busy, active household looking for a true team player! They describe their ideal nanny as a modern-day Mary Poppins, someone who is high-energy, nurturing, proactive, and genuinely enjoys jumping in wherever needed. This is a true hybrid position combining attentive childcare with family assistant responsibilities. Afternoons are spent picking the children up from school, transporting them to activities, preparing simple meals, and creating a fun, structured evening routine. The family has a third vehicle available for the nanny to use, as there is a significant amount of driving between Santa Clarita, Pasadena, and Northridge.
DUTIES
- School pick-ups and transportation to activities (family vehicle provided)
- Engage the children in fun, age-appropriate activities
- Support the oldest daughter with patience and understanding
- Prepare simple dinners, snacks, and lunch prep
- Children’s laundry
- Tidy and reset the home at the end of the day
- Walk the family dog and feed the cat
- Assist with general family organization and errands as needed
- Occasional date nights with advance notice
LOCATION: Santa Clarita
DATES: August 10-September 24, 2026, with the possibility of extending depending on the family’s au pair timeline.
SCHEDULE: Approximately 35 hours/week, Monday-Friday, 2:00 PM-9:00 PM, with flexibility to do a weekend date night on occasion
COMPENSATION: $35-$40/hour DOE
REQUIREMENTS
- Experience caring for multiple children
- Special needs experience strongly preferred (ADHD and autism)
- Strong swimmer (family has a pool)
- Up to date on TDAP and MMR
- Comfortable around dogs and cats
- Open to occasional date nights
- Knowledge of or willingness to respect a kosher household
- Clean driving record
